Are you ready to adopt a Border Collie?

I’m ready, are you?

When you adopt any companion animal, especially a rescue, it is a commitment that will affect your lifestyle for many years to come. Do you have the time, energy and resources necessary to devote to a new member of the family? With good care, most Border Collies will live 10 to 17 years. It is critical that you consider what is likely to be happening in your own life — before you adopt a pet.

What happens next?

If you can provide a healthy, safe and loving home and would like to adopt a Clancy’s Dream rescued Border Collie the next step is to read our Adoption Process Quick Facts and then complete the Adoption Application. Please note that the application is not an agreement to adopt a pet. Improper placement can end tragically — usually for the dog. This comprehensive application helps us to place the right dog with the right family. Clancy’s Dream takes great pride in matching our rescue dogs with their adoptive family.

An adoption interview will be scheduled either by phone or in person upon review of the application. The level of experience required, need for a fence, adequate exercise space, hours the animal may be left alone, young children and other pets in the home, etc will be discussed in the adoption interview.

Once you complete your adoption application and return it, our adoption director will contact you once it is approved. We encourage you to join the fellowship of our Facebook Group. There, you will get the very first glance of rescues in progress, rehabilitation of dogs, and heartwarming adoption photos & stories.

Adoption approval is at the sole discretion of Clancy’s Dream Adoption Committee. The references provided in the Adoption Application will be verified prior to approval. You will want to contact your vet’s office, letting them know that a Veterinary Medical Records Release form will be forthcoming.

After verification and approval, you will finalize the adoption by completing an Adoption Contract.

We ask that you make a tax deductible contribution to Clancy’s Dream which serves our Organization’s ability to cover a rescue dog’s daily expenses of food and medicine, veterinary bills, transportation costs, shelter costs and so much more! All available medical records will be provided along with a variety of other information at time of adoption.

Clancy's Dream does not have an adoption fee; we take care of every dog's treatment and cost because we want more than money can buy and an excellent home for our dogs. So in place of a set adoption fee, we ask for a voluntary donation. We hope that you will always continue to support Clancy's Dream and become a part of our rescue family.

We have a hard-working and committed Board of Directors. They take NO salary and share a common goal and dedication to care for any needs necessary for each dog. We operate on donations and fundraisers. To us, It's ALL about the dog, nothing more.

You can donate through PayPal or write a check to Clancy's Dream Inc. (with the same address) 100% of all funds go to help save the dogs.

Medical records Release

In accordance with the Veterinary Practice Act regarding the confidentiality of patient medical records, “a written authorization or other form of waiver executed by the client or an appropriate court order subpoena” is required in order for a veterinary clinic to produce copies of your pet’s medical records

Dog adoption contract

To ensure the safety of our Border Collies - we ask that each adopter adhere and complete our Dog Adoption Contract before adoption.

We can provide literature, training, or conference calls to help with any issues that might occur. Clancy's Dream also reserves the right to:

1-IMG_0055-2.JPG
  • Check on the pet to ensure its well-being.

  • Remove the pet from the home if any conditions of the Adoption Contract have been violated or, if in the opinion of Clancy’s Dream, the environment is unsafe.

  • If at any time you cannot keep your pet, you must return it to Clancy’s Dream and not to any other individual or shelter.

Please note: If your pets are not current on all necessary vaccines; or do not receive annual heartworm tests and preventative on a year-round basis; or if you have unsterilized pets and are unwilling to spay or neuter, that adoption will be handled on a case by case basis. Established performance and conformation dogs will be exempt from this provision, after establishing that their dogs are followed by a veterinary practice.
